Moradins Glory v. Sanguin Corsairs
« am: November 05, 2019, 20:58:21 »
Moradins Glory took on the Sanguin Corsairs today.

With 3 brilliant coaching decisions during the game, Corsairs looked good for an early score after electing to receive the ball.  The dwarves did not make it so easy however, forcing a turnover.  That left the elves some work to recover and score under pressure.  The dwarves had time for an unlikely equaliser, but the clock ran out.  1-0 Corsairs at half-time.

The second half started well for the dwarves who collected a short kick calmly.  Things looked even better as the numbers game came into play with heavy blocking and fouling (5 or 6 in the match!).  However the sly elves spread the dwarf offense and created an opening for two one dice blocks without a reroll on the runner.  The second hit home forcing the ball to the sideline.  With some unlucky blocking, the dwarves could not recollect, leaving the elves open to recollect and hurl a long pass up field.  Running down the clock Dhybzith crossed late in the half.  2-0 Corsairs.

With 6 players taking the field for the restart, Moradin continued to pressure but was short of time to score.  Final score 2-0 - both sets of fans satisfied with the carnage.
