The Corsairs elected to receive, working the ball cleanly up field and looking for Skinks to victimise. Hemlock took his opportunity to try and stab the ball carrier, though the runner stood his ground before crossing easily. Sulgy adding a 3rd TD to the season stats. 1-0 Corsairs.
On the return kick the Lizardmen struggled to gather the ball, and faced two blitzes on the ball carrier - the second spilling the pill. Neither side could recover going into the break.
From the restart the Lizardmen played more aggressively, and faced limited opposition. Notably, the weather which had been pouring throughout the first half changed and the fans had taken out the ref (no doubt due to extensive controversy over Hemlock's liberal use of daggers). Krasser took full advantage, with a well worked drive that culminated in a hasty score as the Dark Elves reverted to fouling Boss Kroxigor off the pitch!
An oddity side note here: The Lizardmen picked the ball up in the very corner of the pitch, before scoring in the opposite corner, for the longest rushing TD this week.
With plenty of time on the clock, the Corsairs had the edge. This prompted the Krasser coach to call a blitz, and the scaly ones lurched forward into the backfield. The kick was also a deep one, and though the Corsairs recovered well under a lot of pressure and with poor position, time ran down too quickly to allow for more than a half-chance to score.
