The game started on time with a debate between the coaches on whether the game should be played on the Slipppery's boat or on the Warpers acid green. The discussion was settled as the weather above the boat was perfect for a blood bowl game. Both teams dragged a lot of fans but the Warpers have quite some reputation and had a tinny bit more (not that it mattered). The well loved/hated Candiru (Wrestle/Tackler) of the SWW was missing for this game as he had been injured by a Treeman of the Virgin Island Painkillers. For a good amount of money the SWW's coach recruited Hakflem Skuttlespike to take his spot. As is tradition for them, the Warpers played with a journeyman.
The SWW's offence started well, a snot fouled a lineman KO and the gutter Koi #5 handed the ball to Hakflem in the back field. The Warpers rushed forward. A blitz from horned blitzer Dorade #4 made a gap through which Hakflem could slip. Even if the Troll Whale #12 stayed dumbly where he was, the SWW managed to form a cage around him. The attempt to cage dive by blitzer #2 Norman Bates was failed and Hakflem could run away pretty easily to score on turn 4.
Back to 11 but facing a perfect defence, the warpers pushed hard. The two headed dauntless block gutter Koi #3 tried to 1 die pop the ball but rolled a push, RR, skull. Luckily he was only knocked down. The drive went on with a tight advance of the warpers against non stop very aggressive harassing attempts from Koi to no avail. Finally close to the scoring line, the dark elf journeyman fails a block and looses a reroll leaving the blitzer carrying the ball Jigsaw #1 exposed. A blitz from horned blitzer Dorade #4 with RR only lead to a push against the sideline. A dodge, a hand-off and a rush later, blitzer #4 Mike Myers scored on his turn 8.
A blitz kick-off from the SWW at the start of the second half combined with the ball falling in the scrum of the middle line placed the warpers in difficulty. They managed to secure the ball but had to withdraw several turns in a row. It was the turn of the other loner of the game, Hakflem, to fail a block and loose a reroll (stunned). On the following turn, gutter Koi #3 with an assist managed to pop the ball but Hakflem was still on the floor and nobody was fast enough to pick up the ball. At that moment the warpers where quite retreated in their backfield and any mistake could cost the game. Indeed, Witch #5 Beatrix Kiddo failed the pick up and the ball landed surrounded by both elves and underworld denizens. First the thrower #6 Lamprey 2 made a space by killing runner #7 Joker. Then Hakflem shined, finally back up he ran, picked up, rushed, dodged and handed the ball off to goblin #9 Ratz. Said gobbo just had to rush once (with no RR left) to score and he managed.
The last drive went quick and boring, both teams where apparently drained. Apparently the Warpers' coach had an appointment somewhere or maybe he was afraid that the sponsors would not enjoy the final result much and ran off.
Final score 2:1 for the SWW with 2:2 Cas.
Thanks for the game, @Topas.
